The delegation of the Security Council of the Russian Federation led by Secretary Sergei Shoigu on a visit to the DPRK laid a wreath at the Liberation Tower in Pyongyang on March 21.

Present there were Pak Jong Chon, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Jong Gyu, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexandr Matsegora, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy.

A guard of honour of the Korean People's Army lined up at the tower.

The national anthems of the Russian Federation and the DPRK were played.

A wreath was placed at the Liberation Tower in the name of the secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation amid the playing of wreath-laying music.

The participants paid a silent tribute to the memory of the fallen soldiers of the Soviet Army before looking round the tower.
