The UN published a report on the wretched situation of women across the world on March 6.

According to it, the number of women whose life is threatened in the disputed areas has increased by 50 percent over the past decade and a woman is killed by her husband or family members every ten minutes.

It expressed concern over the fact that discrimination against women has grown severer and the protection of women’s rights remained sluggish over the past 30 years in many countries of the world, stressing the necessity to take drastic measures to ensure equality between the sexes.
