A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry rejected the US’ hegemonic logic in a press conference on March 3.

The US State Secretary has recently blamed China over the issues of the economy, trade and India-Pacific region. The spokesman said that the US official’s relevant remarks filled with the Cold War way of thinking are consistent with lies and sophism and that China resolutely opposes it.

While politicizing and using as a weapon the economic and trade issues, the US has imposed additional tariffs on China and hindered cooperation between the two countries, he said, noting there will be no victor in the trade and tariff wars and it will be just the US that will suffer harm.

The Asia-Pacific region is an area to achieve cooperation and development, not a chessboard for their topographical gambling, and history and reality repeatedly prove that the US is used to using other countries as a chessman, lackey and even cannon fodder, he decried.

Asserting that the US should not see China with its hegemonic logic, he said that its attempt at confrontation between camps in the Asia-Pacific region will definitely end in failure since it runs counter to the trend of the times and is contrary to the common aspirations of regional countries.
