A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce of China on February 22 gave an answer to the question raised by a journalist as regards the fact that the US issued a memorandum on the “America-first” investment policy.

The US is going to impose more restrictions in the future in terms of investment in China, which is very unreasonable, he said, adding that once the relevant measure is taken, it would not be good for Washington.

He strongly demanded the US stop politicizing and weaponizing the economic and trade issues, stating that China will closely watch the moves of the US and defend its legitimate rights and interests by mobilizing necessary means.
