Many final-year students in Pyongyang volunteer for military service

More than 300 final-year students of senior middle schools in Pyongyang have volunteered for military service at forefront border posts, out of the ardent desire to devote their youth and hope to upholding the socialist cause with arms, amid the patriotic will of the rising generation growing stronger to add eternal lustre to our ideology, system and beloved country.

A meeting took place at the Pyongyang Municipal Youth Park Open-Air Theatre on February 26 to congratulate them leaving for the forefront of national defence. 

A congratulatory address was made at the meeting.

The speaker warmly congratulated the final-year students who vowed to serve at the military posts for national defence with the will to record the immortal military feats on the life history in their youth before anything else, though there are many places to go from the campus associated with the unforgettable memories of their school days, including workplaces where they can translate their dreams and ideals into reality.

It is the highest honour and pride of the young people in the present era to glorify their youth in the military uniform of the revolution, the speaker said, requesting the volunteers to adorn every moment of their military service with loyalty and patriotic feats.

Then there were speeches of volunteers.

They expressed their determination to reliably defend peace and security on this land from the enemies' aggression and challenge at the forefront of national defence, saying that it is the proud tradition of the Korean youth to take arms of defenders for the very precious motherland.

DPRK Hero Ho Ryong, a lecturer of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, handed the national flag of the DPRK shining as the symbol of heroism and victory of Juche Korea over to the reliable volunteers.
