Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, addressing a G20 foreign ministers meeting on February 20, denounced the West’s hegemony-seeking policy.

Referring to the fact that terrorist organizations around the world are arming themselves with Western weapons flowing out from Ukraine, he said that the Western countries are dividing terrorists into “our side” and “their side” according to double standards and that such short-sighted policy has led to the terrorist act against the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

There is no place for hegemony and hostile bloc policy in the multipolar world and international relations should be established on the basis of recognizing the national interests of each country, he said, adding it is high time the West accepted the new balance of power and started establishing relations with the countries that make up the majority of the world on the basis of mutual respect.
