Agricultural workers on tour of Pyongyang
February 24, 2025Exemplary agricultural workers’ tour of Pyongyang started on January 20.
“The exemplary agricultural workers’ tour of Pyongyang, which the state initiated decades ago to put forward agricultural workers who devoted themselves to farming all the year round, still continues. It is arranged in several terms every year,” said an official of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea.
During their Pyongyang tour the agricultural workers look round the Korean Revolution Museum, Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site and Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong and other places and are warmly accepted by leisure centres and public service facilities including the Central Zoo and Munsu Water Park.
“I felt great pride in my country after having a bird’s eye view of Pyongyang, which I had always imagined in my mind, from the Tower of the Juche Idea well over a hundred metres in height,” said a farmer from the Jaktong Farm under the Poptong County Rural Economy Committee of Kangwon Province. This is the first time he has visited the capital city, he added.
Mentioning that they spent unforgettable moments at magnificent theatres of Pyongyang, new streets unfolding conspicuous night views and leisure centres in the capital, high-yielding farmers from North Hwanghae Province said that witnessing the magnificent appearance of the capital city with their own eyes, they felt delighted and invigorated, expressing their determination to do more work, always remembering the benevolence of the Workers’ Party of Korea which made sure that new civilized and splendid farm houses were wonderfully built and they spent pleasant days during their tour of the city.
“We strolled through the illuminated streets including Hwasong, Rimhung and Jonwi streets till late at night and had memorable photos taken at scenic spots and leisure centres. We swelled with the pride of being farmers as Pyongyang citizens sincerely welcomed us, appreciating what we did for the grain production of the country,” said Jong Sin Il and his wife Jang Ryon Hwa, farmers of the Phonam Farm under the North Hwanghae Provincial Rural Economy Committee who set off on a tour of Pyongyang with the pride of having become high-yielding farmers by ovefulfilling their grain production plans for last year.
An official of the UAWK Central Committee said that the agricultural workers’ impressions of the tour of Pyongyang add to their enthusiasm to produce high crop yields this year, too.
