A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry at a press conference on February 17 accused Japan of its attitude towards the Taiwan issue.

He said that Taiwan is an inseparable part of the Chinese territory and the Taiwan issue is purely an internal affair of China and that outside forces have no right to interfere.

Since Japan invaded Taiwan and enforced colonial rule over it and also has historical responsibility for the serious crimes committed against the Chinese people, it should be careful with its words and deeds, he noted.

He strongly demanded Japan neither make a fuss about the Taiwan issue nor send contradictory and wrong signals.
