The February 8 Vinalon Complex has increased production since the march of the new year began for implementing the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Officials, workers and technicians of the complex have overfulfilled their basic chemical product production plans on all indexes every day by ensuring the full operation of equipment at full capacity in every production process as they consolidate the achievements and experience they gained in the readjustment and reinforcement last year, true to the call of the Party for channelling major efforts into stepping up the growth and development of the overall national economy.

Officials of the complex carefully organize and command production so that all units can strictly observe plan discipline while putting an emphasis on making substantial progress in diversifying the variety of basic chemical products and improving their quality.

Carbide workshops Nos. 1 and 2 provide a guarantee for increasing production by pushing ahead with the installation project of a large-capacity choked carbide electric furnace.

The caustic soda workshop, which set a goal to produce much more caustic soda than last year, remarkably lowered the consumption of materials per unit and increased the concentration of salt water 1.3 times by introducing profitable technical innovation plans and devices. It produced 1.2 times of more caustic soda as against the same period of last year by conducting technical management and operation of equipment including electrolytic cell.

The synthetic workshop registers high records every day in the production of intermediate products including aldehyde as it displays the collectivist trait of helping other shift and workteam. The vinyl chloride synthetic workshop found out a rational method of increasing the activity of catalysts and improving the quality of monomer to contribute to the growth of production.

Workers and technicians of the vinyl chloride polymerization workshop further completed the automatic control system of major equipment while managing equipment and technology in a responsible manner to increase production.

Scientists and technicians of the Industrial Technology Research Institute contribute to normalizing the production of basic chemical products by rapidly solving urgent technical problems arising in the readjustment and reinforcement of equipment, the improvement of quality indexes of products and the domestic production of major catalysts.
