Russia criticizes US’ hostile policy
February 18, 2025Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryavkov said at the press conference on February 10 that Russia-US relations are on the eve of rupture due to the hostile policy of the US.
Referring to the fact that the previous Biden administration pinned its hope on the hybrid war and forced its plan for inflicting a “strategic defeat on Russia” on its allies of different kinds of blocs and other countries, he said that the “confrontational structure” of Russia-US relations has been built up to assume a very acute character today.
He said that the attempt of the US, which tries to play as if it grants Moscow a huge favour while presenting ultimatums and unacceptable demands, cuts no ice with Russia.
Saying that Russia does not greatly expect that the relationship with the US would turn out fine after the government change in the US, he asserted that Russia has officially become a “dangerous enemy” due to the domestic politics and rigid foreign policy line of the US.
As for the Ukrainian issue, he stressed the need to acknowledge the reality and remove the root of the crisis which forced Russia to launch the special military operations against Ukraine, saying good chance or stopgap measure would not work.
