Meetings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows took place in Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Norway, Switzerland and Finland between February 7 and 9 on the occasion of the 83rd birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
Present at the events were personages of various circles and other people in those countries.
Screened at film shows were a film dealing with the noble revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il and videos showing the proud reality of the DPRK undergoing changes under the wise leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea and the happy life of its people.
Speeches were made at the events.
The chairman of the Norway-Korea Friendship Association and the international secretary of the Finnish Communists' League said that the world people are recollecting with deep emotion the exploits of Kim Jong Il, who made great contributions to the Korean revolution and the cause of independence for mankind, on the occasion of the February holiday, adding that his devotion and efforts for the cause of global peace are deeply cherished in the minds of mankind.
The chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee praised Kim Jong Il as a seasoned and experienced state leader who consolidated the single-minded unity of the whole society as firm as a rock and bolstered up the national defence capabilities in every way to smash the US imperialists' moves for aggression at every step and firmly defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country and the destiny of the people.
The revolutionary cause of Juche dynamically led by Comrade Kim Jong Il is victoriously advancing thanks to Comrade Kim Jong Un, he noted. The future of the DPRK guided by Kim Jong Un is bright and rosy, he said, adding that the world progressives are convinced of the victory of the socialist cause in the DPRK's development.
A congratulatory message to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the event held in Switzerland.
