A performance "We will fulfil the fatherly General's desire for a powerful nation" was given by the workers' artistic information group of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea at the Central Hall of Workers in Pyongyang on February 13 in celebration of the 83rd birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Among the audience were Min Sung Chol, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Pak In Chol, chairman of the GFTUK Central Committee, trade union officials, workers and trade union members in Pyongyang.

With the hall brimming with the deep yearning and boundless reverence of the audience for the peerless patriot and benevolent father, such colourful numbers as female solo "Glory of Life" and narrative poem "On the Road He Follows" were put on stage.

The song "A Dear Name" sung by the performers by reflecting the intense loyalty of the workers and trade union members to hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem forever fired the audience with enthusiasm for praising the great man.

Mixed quartet "My Powerful Motherland", male solo and pangchang "We Are Koreans" and others added to the strong sense of pride in being a citizen of a powerful country with the greatest man held in high esteem, revving up the atmosphere of the performance.

The performance ended with chorus "Dear Father", which fully showed the revolutionary enthusiasm of the workers and trade union members to demonstrate the might of the “eldest son” of the country and vanguard unit in the sacred struggle to more courageously usher in the era of overall prosperity of the country by remaining faithful to the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
