Film show week opens to mark February holiday

A week-long film show opened on the occasion of the auspicious February holiday, the greatest national holiday.

Shine, Jong Il Peak and other documentary films featuring the immortal revolutionary exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il, who created the glorious history of victory of the DPRK and laid the eternal foundation for the prosperity of the nation with his outstanding ideological and theoretical activities and energetic leadership, will be screened at cinemas and halls of culture in Pyongyang and other areas.

Feature films Days and Nights of Confrontation, a sequel to One Day and One Night, People of Jagang Province (Parts 1 and 2), Sunrays (Parts 1 and 2), and Pilot Kil Yong Jo will also be shown.

An opening ceremony took place at the Pyongyang International Cinema House on February 10.

Present there were Choe Hak Gun, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee, officials, creators and artistes in the film sector and working people in the city.

Jong Yong Nam, director-general of the National Administration of Motion Picture Industry, delivered an opening address.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants watched documentary film Eternal Sun of the People.

A week of film show also opened in all provinces on the same day.
