Ice sculpture festival goes on in celebration of February holiday

The Ice Sculpture Festival-2025 in Celebration of February 16 (the birthday of Chairman Kim Jong Il) goes on in the city of Samjiyon on the occasion of the greatest national holiday of the DPRK.

On display there are hundreds of ice sculptures created and presented by officials and working people in Ryanggang Province out of their reverence for the Chairman.

The venue of the festival is visited by officials, working people, youth and students in the province and study tourists of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu.

Looking up with deep emotion at the portrait of the Chairman put up in the centre of the venue, visitors remembered the revolutionary career of the peerlessly great man.

Snow ice sculpture Best Wishes and others reflect the deep yearning for the Chairman.

Seeing a snow ice sculpture depicting the Headquarters log cabin with the red flag of revolution flying above it, the bugler of advance of the Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Army and slogans written on barked trees along with the letters “The spirit of the blizzards of Paektu” carved in relief, visitors realized once again the greatness of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who made a field inspection tour on horseback of the revolutionary battle sites in the Mt Paektu area to fire the whole country with enthusiasm for education in the revolutionary traditions and for revolutionary mental training.

The exhibits include sculptures visually reflecting the changed appearance of the city of Samjiyon and the happiness of local people.

Spectacular are other sculptures on various themes and decorative visual aids going well with the distinctive illuminations around them, making the scenery of the modern mountainous city more conspicuous.
