Various species of animals increase at Central Zoo

February 6, 2025

“Family members” continue to increase in number at the Central Zoo.

Entering this year, seven species of animals, including two species of gift animals, brought forth more than 30 young at the zoo.

An Asiatic black bear, a gift animal, gave birth to several cubs after settling in the zoo 20-odd years ago. It produced another cub on January 1.

The number of Cavia porcellus has increased.

Hamadryas baboon and other animals, too, gave birth to their young.

The three young tigers (two females and one male) produced by a Korean tiger in November last year weigh about 7 kilograms and are 60 centimetres long on average.

Those animals are giving pleasure to the working people and schoolchildren.
