A roving ambassador of the Russian Foreign Ministry warned in his article carried by the January 30 issue of the International Life magazine that Russia might withdraw the quantitative restrictions on nuclear weapons in case the US keeps building up its missile defense system.

Now that Russia is confronted with the West and the latter is openly enforcing a policy aimed at inflicting a strategic loss on the former, the country might face an issue of withdrawing from an obligation to restrict nukes and missiles so as to expand them qualitatively and quantitatively, he said.

As the West is getting ever more wicked in its moves to undermine nuclear deterrents, an argument on nuclear danger and threat, which is no more than empty talks, should be terminated, he stressed.
