Responses from main economic sectors
February 4, 2025Remarkable courage and grit of Sangwon reflect mettle of Koreans
Witnessing the workers of Sangwon striving to make a contribution to carrying out enormous construction projects assigned by the Workers’ Party of Korea, we have once again realized how great efforts we should make this year.
It is the courage, grit and mettle of us Koreans to achieve miraculous successes of increased production.
We, workers in Hwangchol (Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex), share the same duty with those in Sangwon in translating into reality the Party’s grand construction plan.
The flames of performing unprecedented miracles and boosting production kindled in Sangwon will be also witnessed in our furnaces.
We will make strenuous efforts to boost iron output in the spirit that enabled us to turn out iron by the Juche-based method with our own raw materials and fuel by building an energy-saving oxygen blast furnace last year.
Like those in Sangwon, we will greet the 80th birthday of the Party and its Ninth Congress with brilliant labour feats by maintaining the fighting traits of Koreans performing miracles.

We will compete with Sangwon in solidarity
The news that the Sangwon workers initiated a campaign for miraculous increased production had a great impact on me.
All the pits and workteams of the Komdok Mining Complex had set an increased production goal 1.2 times greater than the previous year’s, true to the ideas and spirit of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee.
We had regarded it as a significant one.
However, we were shocked at the news that those in Sangwon set an increased production goal ten times greater than the previous year’s and have tried to work miracles from the outset of this year.
We, miners of the Kumgol Mine, are struggling to find out the ways of increased production, just like those in Sangwon and as befit the Korean workers who always support the grand plans of the Party wholeheartedly.
In positive response to the campaign for increased production launched by the Sangwon workers, we will make all workshops and workteams actively join their efforts and compete with each other for boosting production, thus emerging as victors in the efforts to implement the decisions of the Eighth Party Congress.
Jon Thae Sik, manager of the Kumgol Mine of the Komdok Mining Complex
We will surely boost power output by keeping pace with Sangwon
The Sangwon workers have responded to the call of the Party before others in every stage of the revolution and substantially contributed to the buildup of national power and the development of socialist civilization with increased cement production, as they have extraordinary fighting mettle.
We will strive to boost power output by keeping pace with those in Sangwon, who set a bold goal impossible to attain with the existing concept and methods and tapped reserve for increased production to register unprecedented production results from the outset of this year.
All the workers of our complex are now filled with a resolve to generate more electricity this year, too, by keeping up the innovative spirits with which they set the greatest generation record last year in 30-odd years.
We will always bear in mind the sense of mission that normal production of the complex leads to a steady advance at the theatres for upsurge brimming with the enthusiasm to implement the decisions of the Party Congress and will boost power production to enable all the workplaces across the country to ensure normal and increased production.
Jo Jong Hyok, manager of Workshop No. 2 of the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex
My innovation leads to innovation of my workshop and mill
Taking their cue from the workers of Sangwon, all the operators of our mill, including me, are conducting a socialist emulation drive after setting a goal of breaking the last year’s record.
My innovation leads to innovation of my workshop and mill--it is the unanimous will of all our operators at the textile mill to perform miracles in attaining the goal for cloth production set by the Party in this meaningful year.
Bearing in mind the faith that the drive for increased production in every workplace ensures the advance of our country and the demonstration of the mettle of socialist Korea, I will wage the campaign to overtake, model after and share experience with others to make collective innovations and boost production.
