The historic December 2024 Plenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea assigned the task for all people across the country to glorify 2025 as a momentous year, a year of great changes in which the decisions of the Eighth WPK Congress would be completed and a phase of upward bound towards a higher development stage would be provided through a new increased production drive and patriotic struggle.

In hearty response to the call of the Party, the employees of the Sangwon Cement Complex set themselves an ambitious goal of increasing cement production by hundreds of thousands of tons, ten times more than the increased output of last year.

"We want nothing more if every kilogram of cement we produce, the product of our patriotic efforts, adds to national prosperity and contributes to bringing a bright future to the people even though it is buried underground as the foundations and covered by finishing materials. This is the unanimous desire of all our workers," said Yun Jae Hyok, manager of the Sangwon Cement Complex.

The goal they set is an uphill task which is impossible with the existing production capacity and by the established common knowledge. But the workers of the complex have increased the daily production of clinker by 5 percent and cement output by over 14 percent over the same period of last year when they surpassed the peak year level from the beginning of the new year with devotion to their jobs.

Bearing in mind that the way for increased production to attain the ambitious goal with the existing capacity is to attach importance to science and technology, officials of the complex have worked out detailed monthly, daily and shift plans and are pushing ahead with their implementation by relying on science and technology.

In the course of waging a vigorous mass technical innovation movement to introduce valuable technical innovations conducive to raising the rate of operation of equipment, they have made notable achievements surpassing the existing production capacity.

The Sangwon Limestone Mine declared a war on time, organized the work more carefully in detail and enlisted every effort to increase the production of raw materials. On January 4, it newly secured 200 000 tons of limestone ore reserves by conducting three blastings a day in succession, laying a foundation for producing quality main raw materials.

As a result, the mixed raw materials workshop increased its crushing capacity by dozens of tons per hour more than previously.

The Ilchulbong Mine has also secured a large quantity of mined ore and raised the daily production and ore transport results to 150 percent on average by carrying out two blastings, which had been conducted in a month in the past, one after another in the first week of the new year. 

The enormous upsurge in the preceding process leads to a great improvement in production in the main processes.

An unprecedented quadruple field itinerant inspection system, including field inspectors, shift managers, skilled workers of each workshop and high-level skilled workers of the complex, has strictly been in operation to ensure the stable operation of equipment.

Being fully aware that they take charge of the main process of the cement production, the workers of the calcination workshop have increased the number of itinerary inspection from the previous two to five and six times by focusing on ensuring the long-term operation of the main equipment. And members of cooler workteams Nos. 1 and 2 give full play to the communist virtue of helping the next shifts.

Members of the central control room responsibly and carefully monitor the temperature, pressure and flow quantity of the kilns and crushing process and vibration of various equipment through the integrated automatic control system with full consciousness that the success in increased production largely depends on their role and intensive struggle.

The Sangwon Cement Complex is now producing a large quantity of cement far surpassing the rated capacity thanks to the intense loyalty and patriotic zeal of all its employees who are conscious that they take full responsibility for cement production before the Party and state.
