Enlarged meeting of Twelfth Plenary Meeting of Eighth GFTUK Central Committee held

The enlarged meeting of the Twelfth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) took place on January 31.

Members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the GFTUK attended the meeting and trade union officials in Pyongyang and local areas were present there as observers.

The meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the issue of amending some contents of the Rules of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea.

Pak In Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the GFTUK, made a report.

He analyzed and reviewed the successes and experience, deviations and lessons drawn in the work of the union in 2024 and referred to the ways for the GFTUK to fulfil its mission and duty in effectively pushing forward the preparatory process for the next development stage while successfully carrying out the five-year plan for national economic development.

He called for bringing about an epochal turn in strengthening the union organizations this significant year to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea.

He referred to the fact that each sector and unit should actively organize various mass movements conducive to attaining the goals of the struggle for increased production and economy this year as intended by the Party so that the working people’s patriotism can continue to produce proud results.

He called on all officials of the trade unions to faithfully discharge their duty in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the Party Central Committee.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

Relevant resolutions were adopted there.
