The news about the birth of triplets gave delight to all the people of the DPRK in 2024, too.

The mother of the 543rd triplets of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital was Yun Kyong Ok living in Kimhwa County, Kangwon Province. They were the first to leave the hospital last year.

After she gave birth to the babies at the hospital in 2023, they got medical benefits until the babies grew more than 4 kilograms. On TV was broadcast the happy scene of the triplets leaving the hospital in good health together with their parents, warmly seen off by doctors and nurses, after receiving gold rings and other gifts from the state. The other two sets of triplets left the hospital in February and March of the year respectively.

In April Ri Sun Hui living in the city of Tokchon in South Phyongan Province gave birth to triplets, the first of their kind born in the year.

The woman was taken to the hospital immediately after being diagnosed as pregnant with triplets and got treatment to maintain normal pregnancy while receiving medical benefits from the state.

Medical workers of obstetrical department No. 2 fully responsible for delivering triplets held scores of rounds of consultations on the health of the woman and did their best, taking various timely measures. Thanks to their devoted efforts and sincerity, she could safely give birth to her triplets, the 546th of the hospital.

The first, second and third of the triplets weighed 1.8kg, 1.78kg and 1.76kg respectively at the time of birth. 

The head of baby department No. 3 specializing in after the care of triplets said that at that time the triplets had difficulty in breathing, their vital signs being not so good, from the outset as they weighed relatively little. 

The babies got well after a week of intensive care based on scientific treatment tactics and reached the stage of normal growth another 15 days later, the head added.

“Even after giving birth to my babies, I took various tonics and nourishing foods for the recovery of my health gratis and even got gifts from the state. As a citizen of the country as well as a mother, I am determined to bring the triplets up as excellent persons,” said Ri Sun Hui.

Jong Un Hui, a resident of Phyongsan county town in North Hwanghae Province, gave birth to the 547th triplets of the hospital and left it in good health after getting the best medical service for several months.

The head of the aforesaid baby department said with deep emotion that 13 sets of triplets were born at the hospital from April to December last year and that the love and care shown for the triplets and their mothers by the state are innumerable.

Triplets are discharged from the hospital only after they weigh over 4kg and grow at baby homes wonderfully built in their own regions at the state’s expense until they reach nursery age (four).
