The Russian permanent representative to the United Nations said that acts of terrorism came to be rampant in Africa due to the West’s shameful behaviour at the UN Security Council meeting on January 21.

He said that after the military invasion of Libya by the West, African countries were faced with the rapid expansion of international terror organizations and that Libya collapsed at the time by the West, with a result that favourable conditions were provided for terrorists to expand and strengthen their forces on the continent.

Referring to the West’s hypocrisy and double standards which manifest themselves in Africa, former suzerains are steadily hell-bent on military intervention in the region under the pretext of conducting “anti-terror operations”, he disclosed.
