Detailed plans worked out for implementing WPK's regional development policy
January 14, 2025Elaborate plans for successfully implementing the new regional development policy of the Workers' Party of Korea are being worked out in different parts of the DPRK true to the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.
The non-permanent central committee for promoting the Regional Development 20×10 Policy set more advanced goals on the basis of the experience gained in the course of building the first entities of regional rejuvenation, and is now taking practical measures to build advanced health facilities, facilities for science, education and cultural activities and grain management facilities as well as regional-industry factories at the highest level.
Substantial organizational work is being conducted to thoroughly ensure functions, convenience and diversity from the designing stage, harmony with surrounding environment and economic profitability, effectiveness and prospect at the maximum.
Steps are being taken to rapidly supply the materials needed for the projects while reinforcing the construction forces.
Rational proposals have been synthesized to further raise the proportion of domestic production of custom-built equipment and the level of modernization of production lines, to successfully resolve the sci-tech problems arising in the normal operation of regional-industry factories and to improve the training of technicians and skilled workers this year.
Meanwhile, practical steps are being taken to fix the scale and sites of hospitals according to the specific regional features and reinforce relevant medical workers.
Measures are also being taken to build new modern offshore farms and revitalize aquaculture by pushing forward with scientific and foresighted plans for aquaculture-related work such as the survey of marine ecological environment, analysis of marine resources, securing of seeds, provision of equipment and processing of seafood.
All the provincial committees for promoting the Regional Development 20×10 Policy and cities and counties are seeking innovative proposals with the main emphasis put on providing a sure guarantee for independent development by making the most effective use of their natural and geographical conditions and economic potentials.
