The field of education is elaborating the plan for making a substantial improvement of education this year, true to the idea and spirit of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Officials of the Ministry of Education and relevant units have proposed measures for constantly improving the educational work and held in-depth discussions of issues.

Universities at all levels have taken practical measures to implement the new education programme and train students as competent talents.

Provincial industrial, agricultural and vocational technical colleges are discussing ways to put the teaching contents of relevant fields on a more detailed, diverse and practical basis in conformity with the characteristics of their regions and thus contribute to implementing the Regional Development 20×10 Policy of the WPK.

They are discussing practical issues arising in disseminating reference books, multimedia presentations, latest education data and excellent videos for lectures embodying research-type teaching and study methods to educational units at all levels through the network for the education field and in developing and operating the national educational information system.

Detailed plans are also being worked out for training experts in different fields.

Proposals are made and synthesized for providing conditions and environment favourable for the implementation of the education programme and education of students, including the sprucing up of all schools across the country in ten years.
