Gazprom announces stoppage of gas delivery to Europe via Ukraine

January 6, 2025

The Gazprom Company of Russia recently announced that the delivery of gas to Europe via Ukraine was discontinued.

The company asserted that, as the Ukrainian side refused to renew the agreement on the gas delivery to Europe via its territory, the delivery through this transport route has lost its technical and legal possibility.

Consequently, the gas delivery was reportedly stopped on January 1 2025(Moscow time).

As to this, the Slovak Prime Minister referred to the provocative acts of Ukraine, warning that, if the gas supply from Russia is stopped, the European Union will suffer a loss of 120 billion euros for two years in the future.
