Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a New Year address on the occasion of the New Year.

Saying that the year 2024, when everyone shared weal and woe, arouses unforgettable memories among the people, he referred to the achievements made in the fields of the economy, culture and science last year.

He said that they would enforce more proactive and effective policies in 2025, maintain a favourable trend of economic and social development and comprehensively carry out the 14th five-year plan.

Though external environment is indefinite and challenges and pressure exist, we can overcome them when we make effort, he stated.
