A national flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang on January 1 2025 amid the joy and excitement for celebrating the significant New Year.
The square was crowded with Pyongyangites seeing out 2024 recorded with eye-opening events and unforgettable stories and waiting for the moment of excitement to be filled with confidence in the New Year.
At 00:00 sharp, a bell tolled the start of the New Year and melodies of the immortal revolutionary hymns “Song of General Kim Il Sung” and “Song of General Kim Jong Il” resounded in the sky above the capital city.
On behalf of the workers, peasants and intellectuals, model working people of the capital city courteously hoisted the national flag amid the solemn playing of the national anthem of the DPRK.
Masses paid high tribute to the national flag of the DPRK which flutters invariably and more brilliantly everywhere on this land demonstrating the independent dignity and prestige of the powerful state and bearing the responsibility for the destiny and rosy future of the people.
With the DPRK flag fluttering in the sky above the capital city, marvellous fireworks were displayed to celebrate the New Year.
