Defence ministry rejects US’ argument about ‘threat from China’
December 30, 2024A spokesman for the Defence Ministry of China rejected on December 26 the national defense authorization act of the US for the new financial year, which was adopted under the pretext of “military threat from China”.
Answering the question of a journalist as to the fact that the US has recently adopted the national defense authorization act of the financial year 2025, which branded China as a challenge to the security of major countries, he said that it is aimed at finding an excuse for increasing war expenditure and maintaining hegemony while clamouring against the so-called “military threat from China” and dubbed it as an act of flagrantly interfering in the internal affairs of China and doing harm to world peace and stability.
China demands that the US abandon the Cold War thinking and discard a pipe dream of applying pressure to China and winning the competition with it, he said, declaring that the Chinese army will defend national sovereignty, security and development interests by resolutely carrying out acts of retaliation against all provocations geared to infringing upon the country’s legitimate rights and interests with stronger capabilities and more reliable means.
