A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry criticized the US’ hostile policy in a routine news briefing on December 24.

The US persistently adopted the national defence authorization act for the 2025 fiscal year containing the negative content against China as a law and has clamoured against the “threat from China” every year, he said.

China strongly demands that the US drop Cold War thinking and ideological prejudice and do not seek an excuse for expanding armament and maintaining hegemony, he stressed.

He declared that China would take resolute measures for defending its sovereignty and development interests.
