An inauguration ceremony of the project for modernizing the calcination-sulfuric acid line of the Munphyong Smeltery took place on December 19.

Present there were Yang Sung Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Ri Sang Do, minister of Mining Industry, Paek Song Guk, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ju Mun Jin, chairman of the provincial people's committee, officials concerned, officials and researchers of the units that contributed to the construction, and employees of the smeltery.
