The modernized Thongchon Fishery Station has been inaugurated with due ceremony on December 18.

Production buildings with fish processing equipment, a refrigeration processing building, office building, hall of culture, rest home and others were renovated to bring about great progress in developing the country's fishing industry and improving the people's standards of living.

Present at the inauguration ceremony were Jon Hyon Chol, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Myong Guk, secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the WPK, officials of the Ministry of Fisheries and the Kangwon Provincial Fishery Management Bureau, working people and employees of the station.

Minister of Fisheries Song Chun Sop made an inaugural address.
