Chinese FM censures Canada for imposing sanctions
December 16, 2024A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry criticized Canada for imposing sanctions against his country at a regular news briefing on December 11.
The Canadian government flagrantly interfered in the internal affairs of China and seriously violated international law and the basic rules of international relations by imposing illegal sanctions under the pretext of “human rights” contrary to the fact, he said, adding that his country resolutely opposes and strongly denounces it.
Referring to it as a typical example of a thief crying “Stop thief!” that Canada stained with dirty traces in the field of human rights has tarnished and debased the image of other country, he stressed that Canada has no right to criticize the human rights situation of other country posing as a “human rights teacher” and has no authority to impose illegal sanctions at random posing as a “human rights judge”.
He said that China urges Canada to stop the poor political drama and immediately cancel the illegal sanctions.
