‘Our kindergarten is the best’
December 10, 2024Children of the Kaeson Kindergarten in Moranbong District affiliated to Pyongyang Teachers Training College say their kindergarten is the best.
There are various kinds of amusement apparatuses in the playground which is covered with rubber pads and artificial turf lest children may be hurt, and the interior of the kindergarten is reminiscent of the fairy-tale world.
“Every morning my grandson pesters me to take him to the kindergarten. Vexed by him, I brought him here so early this morning. My grandson always says that he likes studying in the kindergarten best,” said Ro Phyong Un's grandmother.
The head of the kindergarten boasted that none of her kindergarten children were either distracted from lessons or bored.
Excellent educational conditions and environment, amusing intelligent games and educational methods suited to their minds make children enjoy studying and arouse their curiosity.
The kindergarten teachers apply various methods to bring into full bloom the individuality and aptitudes of children while giving basic education essential to them.
They insist that it is important to make children themselves get fun in learning.
So they furnished the education rooms for children to play freely and study and learn skills conveniently, and laid out all spaces in the kindergarten, including the yard, corridors and ceilings, to meet the children’s juvenile minds and educational requirements.
Children in higher class No.1 sat around their teacher, listening to an interesting fairy story and solving the problems of mental calculation with numbers in the story.
According to teacher Kim Jong Im, the method was very effective in improving the children's ability for mental calculation.
Choe Chon U in lower class No.5 became familiar with the numbers in the course of training to note all the beats of percussion, his favourite instrument, so he did well addition and subtraction within the numerical range of 10.
One child made robots with intelligence-promoting toys and a little girl skillfully embroidered pictures of different shapes.
The children are so immersed themselves in going to kindergarten every day that they say, “Our kindergarten is very nice.”
