Young people from across the country began their study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu.

A meeting took place at the plaza before the statue of Chairman Kim Jong Il in the City of Samjiyon on December 2 to start the study tour.

Present there were Ri Song Il, secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Pak Yong Bom, chief secretary of the Samjiyon City Committee of the WPK, officials of the youth league and members of the study tour group.

The participants laid a flower basket and bouquets at the statue of the Chairman and paid tribute to him.

Pak Myong Jin, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report to be followed by speeches.

At the end of the meeting, the members of the study tour group visited the Samjiyon Grand Monument and toured Konchang Bivouac, Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site and Chongbong Bivouac.
