Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, warned at a press conference on November 21 that catastrophic consequences will follow in case NATO forces appear in Ukraine.

Commenting on the remarks of the Estonian Foreign Minister that European countries should dispatch their forces to Ukraine, she said that the appearance of NATO forces in the Ukrainian territory means that NATO has involved itself in the war against Russia and it will lead to catastrophic consequences not only in Europe but in the entire world.

She emphasized that the US anti-missile base deployed in Poland has long been in the potential range of strike of the Russian armed forces.

Earlier, on November 20, Sergei Narishkin, director of the External Intelligence Bureau of Russia, declared that his country will not overlook the attempt of some NATO countries to take part in striking the depth of the Russian territory with long-range weapons by using Ukraine.
