The more dedicated, the more beautiful life

Kim Yong Ae, a worker at the Junggu Housing Construction Company, is commanding love and respect of people.

Regarding it as duty-bound to love colleagues and share pains and difficulties with them, Yong Ae prepared special dishes for hostellers on their birthdays. When a fellow, who had worked with her for a long time, died of an incurable disease, she took good care of her young child for years. 

It was not that she is better off.

Her mother, a middle school teacher, had been always busy with teaching and household work. But she kept on assistance to the army for a long time. 

Whenever Yong Ae asked her if she found it hard, her mother said that you would not find it hard when you do what you want to do, adding that a life is more beautiful when it is devoted to society and community. 

Yong Ae has further realized through her life experience that a day for others is more beautiful and worthwhile than 100 days for oneself. She is called “sister” or “mother” at the workplace and construction site. While sharing the kindred feeling with them, she finds out the true worth of life.   

She has been honoured as a meritorious person of socialist patriotism.

Mother in the eyes of her child 

Jin Sun Yong, 40, is a worker of the South Hamgyong Provincial Posts and Telecommunications Management Bureau.

A mother of a 14-year-old daughter, she was awarded the model worker honour prize last year and received high appreciation of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un this year for having done a lot of good things.  

When asked about the secret of her glory, she says that she only wanted to become a proud mother for her child.

So Sun Yong has worked heart and soul for the community and colleagues. 

She took warm care of an honoured disabled solider, who once worked with her, as she would do her own flesh and blood, and prepared goods needed for housekeeping of a child of her colleague who would be married.

With such a warm heart for others, however, she has failed to do with her own child. She was often away on business trips on her daughter’s birthday and sports day. 

Like mother, like daughter. Her daughter better understands her friends’ worries and helps them with sincerity. And she is also good at school. 

Jin Sun Yong feels proud of her daughter.

People say that the image of a mother in the eyes of her child is that of a true person for the future of the country.
