November 24, 2024

The 2023-2024 DPRK men’s and women’s Premier League that started in December last year was rounded off.

More than 530 goals and a hat-trick were made in the men’s 190-odd league matches.

The Ryomyong team, winner of the men’s event, is the youngest contingent among the participating teams.

The team corrected some shortcomings and weak points revealed in the first-round matches, including improper combinations between players, and took the first place in the second and third rounds consecutively, thus winning this year’s premier league beyond the expectations of experts and fans.

Meanwhile, women footballers, in over 180 matches, scored 580-odd goals and performed 12 hat-tricks, a record high in the women’s premier league history of the country.

The Naegohyang team lifted the second trophy this time after their first in the 2021-2022 women’s premier league.

The DPRK Championships and the Inter-Provincial Games in Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Day of Sports-2024 were also closed.

The former clearly demonstrated the development of professional sports techniques, while the latter that of mass-based sports.

In the national championships, two world and Asian records were bettered in the shooting event, and 25 new national records were set in events including weightlifting, shooting, track and field and swimming.
