The national exhibition of sci-tech achievements in public health-2024 was held at the Grand People’s Study House in Pyongyang from November 1 to 10.

According to a relevant official from the Ministry of Public Health, previous exhibitions of the public health sector drew only the public health sector and relevant units, but the recent show brought together ministries of Education and Railways, other ministries and national agencies and the number of exhibits, such as scientific and technological achievements, medical supplies and health information technology products, also increased.

On display there were more than 2 300 medical scientific and technological achievements and many medicines, medical appliances, health foods, sanitary goods and health information technology products.

The universal dentist’s chair and automatic drip bulb produced by the Myohyangsan Medical Appliances Factory, a bio-resonance diagnosis and treatment device based on iris imaging and device for treating osteoporosis by the medical appliances research institute of the Medical Appliances Industry Management Bureau under the Ministry of Public Health and various other medical appliances drew the attention of many people.

The bio-resonance diagnosis and treatment device based on iris imaging combined two kinds of diagnosis functions and made it possible to ensure the precision of diagnosis.

A celioscope light source device and anion-generating cupping machine presented by the Kim Man Yu Hospital, a 24-hour blood pressure measurement device, mobile first aid resuscitation push cart and biliary tract washer made by the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences, the sci-tech proposals and medical appliances presented by the Okryu Children’s Hospital, Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital and Academy of Medical Sciences also drew the interest of visitors.

The success of the Hungnam Pharmaceutical Factory which ensured domestic production and industrialization of essential medicine intermediates, which had been imported in the past, caught the eyes of officials in the pharmaceutical industry sector.

Many medicines and medical appliances, whose efficacy has been proved in the treatment of various diseases, were presented to the show. They include Kumdang-2 injection with special efficacy for treating viral, digestive and cancerous diseases, silybarin hepatitis injection with good effect for treating liver diseases, ribonucleic acid injection, injection good for treating gynaecological diseases like sterility and menstrual dysfunction, portable tonsil treatment device and otorhinology plasma treatment device and multipurpose blood-purifying device. The number of exhibited medicines and medical appliances reaches more than 1 600 kinds.
