DPRK players returned home on November 14 after taking part in the 9th International Martial Arts Games held in Uzbekistan.

Players who had taken part in the adults’ event for the World Cup Taekwon-Do Games-2024 took the first place in the men’s team pattern and team sparring. Wang Myong Guk and Kim Jong Gun were triumphant in the men’s individual second-dan pattern and third-dan pattern, while Pak Ryon Song won the women’s individual second-dan pattern.

In the men’s individual sparring, Jo Kuk Hyon, Sin Yun Hyok and Wang Myong Guk won the 78kg, 92kg and over 92kg titles. Pak Ryon Song and Kim Yu Jong were placed first respectively in the women’s 57kg and 77kg individual sparring.

Meanwhile, Jong Won Bom and Pak Su Jong bagged gold medals respectively in the adult events at the 15th WKU juvenile, youth, adult, veteran world championships and the 15th World Juvenile Cup games.

Secretary General of the Cabinet Kim Kum Chol who is concurrently member of the State Sports Guidance Commission, officials from the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, families and other players warmly greeted them at Pyongyang International Airport.
