Head of Russian Federation Council emphasizes importance of unity
November 13, 2024Valentina Matvienko, chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council, underlined the importance of unity in her article recently published on the occasion of the Day of People’s Unification.
The aspiration for unity is, needless to say, an inherent nature of the people of different social strata across the world, she said, noting that otherwise, people would have failed to have such a stable survival mode as a state and even might have vanished from the map.
Asserting that they need to aspire after unity more than any time in order to defend the state, frustrate the attempts of aggression and destruction of the outside forces, build up their own strength and make progress, she pointed out that the Russians of all generations have steadily carried on such aspiration for unity. The historical course has proved this time and again, she said.
Even in the grimmest times, the multinational people of Russia always displayed the united force at necessary moments, turned out shoulder to shoulder to safeguard their country and won victories, she stressed. And it was the fruit of characters peculiar to the Russian people, who firmly unite to attain their goals, that they defeated Napoleon and fascism, went up to outer space for the first time and made breakthroughs on several stages of peaceful development of atomic power, she added.
