South Hamgyong Province is expanding the capacity of its finishing building materials production bases amid the dynamic efforts for ushering in a new era of regional transformation, a new era of rural development, in all provinces.

Building materials production bases built in cities and counties of the province are directing efforts to increasing their capacity and establishing new production processes.

Last year the Songchongang Tile Factory increased production capacity by building a new raw material drying ground and several other processes. On this basis, it has taken proper measures for quality control and supply of raw materials to increase the variety of building materials and raise the quality and productivity of products, thus bringing about good results in tile production this year.

While producing quality fittings and exterior wall paints by relying on local sources of raw materials, the city of Tanchon markedly increased light burned magnesia production capacity and set up a wallpaper production process.

Jongphyong County is proactively mobilizing locally available stone resources and producing fixture boards, coloured mortar and other materials, thus making it possible to push ahead with the construction of rural houses as planned.

Riwon County has increased metal fittings production capacity by tapping internal reserves and pushed ahead with the readjustment and reinforcement of finishing building materials production processes to mass-produce quality building materials.

The city of Sinpho and Pukchong and Kumya counties have also built building materials production bases and introduced efficient working methods to produce and supply necessary finishing building materials in a qualitative way, thus providing a guarantee for smoothly pushing forward with the construction of farm houses.
