Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov condemned the US and NATO’s policy of hegemony at an international conference on security of Eurasia on October 31.

Noting that NATO is not content with the war against Russia provoked by the Ukrainian authorities, he accused the US and its followers of trying to turn the whole Eurasian region into a theatre of geopolitical confrontation. 

NATO intends to establish its military supremacy not only in Europe but also in the eastern part of Eurasia and is working hard to take root in the region under the pretext of carrying out the Indian-Pacific strategy, while inventing an excuse for restoring the military presence in Central Asian countries.

He noted: What is clear is that the US cannot become again the former models playing the leading role while talking about its advantages. Moreover, things have not gone well where the US tried to control everything. It should consider the new geopolitical and international legal reality and push ahead with initiatives based on equality and genuine balance of interests, not high-handed practices.
