Farm in North Phyongan overfulfills national grain production plan again, holds meeting for account settlement and income distribution
November 4, 2024The Ilhae Farm in Jongju, North Phyongan Province, has reaped a rich harvest every year by dint of scientific farming.
While directing primary efforts to putting the scientific agricultural production on a higher level, the farm distributed high-yield varieties highly resistant to salinity, drought, rainstorm and diseases in conformity with the regional characteristics as it is located on the seashore and established scientific cultivation methods.
It operated a newly built slow-action granulated fertilizer production base at full capacity, spread a lot of organic fertilizer and manure on fields to improve their fertility and dug drainage canals in the sections extending for scores of kilometres, thus providing a guarantee for a rich and stable harvest.
After ensuring a bumper harvest, its workers finished autumn harvesting and threshing in a short span of time through collective innovation and piled a huge stack of grains.
Ri Hi Yong, chief secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Kim Kwang Un, chairman of the provincial rural economy committee, and officials of the city of Jongju congratulated the farmers who participated in the meeting for account settlement and income distribution with the pride of having overfulfilled again their national grain production plan in this significant year.
