The 16th BRICS summit took place in Kazan, Russia, from October 22 to 24.

At the meeting, which was held on the theme of “Let us strengthen multilateralism and promote the development and security of a fair world”, there was discussion about cooperation issues and major international issues of common concern among member nations.

The declaration, which was published after the meeting, advocated the reform of the UN including UNSC, opposed unilateral sanctions hampering the development of other countries and expressed support for establishing an independent state of Palestine based on the border line in 1967 which has been recognized internationally and for admitting the country in the UN.

Heads of state and government of more than 20 countries including the BRICS member states, delegations of different countries and representatives of international organizations participated in the recent summit and relevant events.
