Homage paid to CPV martyrs
October 26, 2024Wreaths were laid before the Friendship Tower on October 25 on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front.

A guard of honour of the Korean People's Army stood at the tower.
The wreath-laying ceremony was attended by Kang Yun Sok, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Mun Song Hyok, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Pak Myong Ho, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs and officials concerned.
The national anthems of the People’s Republic of China and the DPRK were played.
Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music, the wreaths in the name of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK were laid before the tower.
There were also laid wreaths in the name of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Urban Management and a wreath in the joint name of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK and the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee.
Written on the ribbons of the wreaths were the letters reading: “To Martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers!”
The participants paid a silent tribute in memory of CPV martyrs and looked round the tower.
On the same day, wreaths were also placed at the cemeteries and graves of fallen CPV fighters in Hyongjesan District of Pyongyang, Anju City and Hoechang County of South Phyongan Province, Onsong County of North Hamgyong Province, and Kaesong City.
