Russian president refers to agricultural development

Russian President Vladimir Putin referred to the tasks facing the agricultural sector on October 13 on the occasion of the holiday of agricultural workers. 

Noting that the tasks facing the agricultural sector set forth in the May government ordinance are to increase agricultural production by over 25 percent and the volume of exports up to 1.5 times until 2030, he said that these goals could be attained by enhancing the technical ability of the agricultural sector. 

It is important to widely introduce home-made farm machines, positively apply farming techniques, improve soil and quality of products and develop genetics in order to carry out the tasks facing the agricultural sector, he said.

Special attention should be directed to preparing the backbone of science and education and young experts along with the development of agricultural production technologies, he noted, adding it is a priority affair for the government to develop the rural communities and improve the living standards of the people.
