Standardization work improves
October 14, 2024Today the standardization work constantly expands and develops, promoting economic growth and the improvement of material and cultural life.
Many countries are now moving toward the wide spread of new technologies through standardization.
The DPRK also works to improve standardization work in keeping with the development of the economy and science and technology and the improvement of the people’s material and cultural life.
It steadily improves standards by focusing on if they suit the practical situation of the country and meet the scientific and technological requirements and international standards and if they fully reflect the people’s material and cultural demands, advanced sci-tech hits, economic profitability and convenience in social life.
This year alone, the DPRK introduced international and foreign standards in different fields to suit the local situations including ISO 16000 series (room air), ISO 55000 series (property management) and ISO 9241 series (human engineering on the interaction between humans and systems) and set them as national standards so as to improve quality indices and expand objects for standardization.
Along with this, it works out a table for sectoral standardization system to standardize all objects and elements of the economy and social life in comparison with the development trend of international standardization, and systematically standardizes new objects and elements.
Meanwhile, it set a dozen regional industry sectoral standards including those for garments and daily necessities to suit the regional characteristics and actual conditions.
In addition, several books on standardization have been brought out to help people have a good understanding of standards.
