On display at the exhibition were over 1 500 pieces of achievements and products in the fields of informatization and information industry and technology, which were presented by more than 480 units in different parts of the country, including ministries and national agencies.
“During the exhibition, achievements and experiences of advanced units were introduced through AI program, programming and computer virus vaccine program contests and a presentation, while exchanges were made among the units to apply advanced technologies,” said Kim Il Gyong, head of the informatization department of the Ministry of IT Industry.
Among the favoured products at the exhibition were an irrigation waterway current meter for smart phone and “Hwallyokso (tonic)” 1.0, a program for diagnosing nitrogen nutrition in crops, presented by the agricultural informatization institute under the Academy of Agricultural Science.
Experts were especially interested in the agricultural sci-tech service program, which offers crop growth prediction, agricultural sci-tech data, real-time Q&A service and farming material information to promptly and accurately disseminate sci-tech knowledge in the agricultural sector and solve sci-tech problems on the spot in time irrespective of time and place by using the mobile communication network.
According to researcher Ri Su Yong of the institute, the introduction of the products enabled agricultural production units to fully grasp their farming situation and command all farming processes. She added that they would develop and introduce more information systems conducive to agricultural production in the future to promote the development of agricultural science and technology.
A crowd-puller at the exhibition was the venue of a robot contest where robots made by primary school pupils flaunted their “skills”.
