The Russian Foreign Ministry decried the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in a statement on October 1.

The statement said that a large number of peaceful residents are being killed due to the Israeli invasion of the Lebanese territory.

The number of deaths will keep increasing in the light of the invasion mounted by mobilizing all branches of arms of Israel and this will cause the intensification of violent actions in the Middle East, it asserted.

Strongly condemning the Israeli invasion, the statement urged the Israeli authorities to immediately stop combat actions, withdraw their forces from the Lebanese territory and seek a practical way for the peaceful settlement of the Mideast dispute.
