Teachers foundation for training talents
October 5, 2024Education is a fundamental matter related to the future destiny of countries and nations.
As we cannot think of a fruit without roots, behind such famous persons as statesmen, military commanders and musicians are the devoted efforts of educators who make a sacrifice of themselves for their growth. Therefore, enhancing the position and role of teachers, who are in direct charge of educational work, is an important undertaking that decides the rise and fall of countries.
The international conference on education was held in Geneva, Switzerland, in October 1994 and set October 5 as world teachers’ day according to the unanimous demand and agreement of the participants.
On the occasion of the day, many countries organize celebratory and other events to enhance the position and role of educators.
Though different countries have given teachers preferential treatment and improved educational environment, such efforts have not yet reached a due level. In many countries, teachers’ status has not improved and a large number of teachers face difficulties in their work. Worse still, teachers are subjected to violence and murder.
Education is the work of bringing up the future of countries. If we liken a talent to a tree, education can be compared to soil and teachers the manure for training talents.
The DPRK is directing top priority to education.
The Workers’ Party of Korea’s policy of attaching importance to education intensively includes the idea that science is a locomotive that pulls economic development while education is the mother of science, the idea that education is the basis of state building and an important criterion that decides the national power, and the idea of bringing about a revolution in education in the new century.
Our country positively puts forward teachers, who are directly responsible for education, and they are preferentially treated in society.
A well-organized system for training teachers is in place, backed up by teachers training colleges and universities of education which were wonderfully built under the concern of the state in all parts of the country including Pyongyang.

Our educators devote themselves to training talents with pride in their job.
Fresh innovations are being made in education, thanks to the painstaking efforts and greater enthusiasm of teachers in direct charge of educational work.
