An event took place at the Mausoleum of King Tangun on October 3 to mark National Founding Day.
Present there were Kang Yun Sok, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, Kim Myong Hun, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials of the National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage (NAPCH), officials concerned and working people in Pyongyang.
There was a memorial service for King Tangun.
Hwang Kwang Il, director of the NAPCH, made a commemorative report.
He said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the wonderful reconstruction of the Mausoleum of King Tangun as a monumental edifice in the era of the Workers’ Party, praising President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il as peerless patriots and extraordinarily great sages who glorified the time-honoured history and traditions of the nation.
The 5 000-year history and precious cultural heritage of the nation are shedding more brilliant rays along with the era of the our-state-first principle thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, he noted.
